The process for receiving unemployment benefits can be frustrating.  Some people are fortunate enough to receive their benefits without a problem.  Others aren't so lucky.  While the process may seem fairly straightforward, the Texas Workforce Commission can deny unemployment benefits for a number of reasons.  When the TWC denies benefits, an applicant can appeal.  For the first appeal, the TWC will set a telephonic hearing before a hearing officer.  At the hearing, the applicant is able to present evidence, offer testimony, question the other side's witness, and even bring in their own witnesses.  The TWC has certain procedures that the applicant must follow.  An attorney can help guide the applicant through this process.  That's where I come in.  I take the stress off the clients by guiding them through the process and representing them at the hearing.
