Running a small business is difficult; I know, it's something that I do all day.  Your time is best spent focusing on what you love about your business.  Employee-related issues can eat up time that you'd prefer to dedicate to something else.   I'm here to help lighten the load.

Employee issues arise in a variety of ways.  Whether it's developing proper policies and procedures for providing a safe work environment or developing policies that protect your company information,  I am here to help you through the process.  Proactive business owners take steps to ensure that their employees have a place where they want to work.  Good company culture starts with the proper employee policies and procedures.  I help small businesses develop employee handbooks and policies that foster smooth, healthy operations.  Importantly, I guide clients through properly applying their policies and procedures to ensure compliance and to reduce risks as issues arise.

If a company fails to adhere to its own policies or procedures, the results can be disastrous.  Common missteps I've encountered include companies failing to properly follow their policies regarding harassment, companies failing to implement proper safeguards to maintain the confidentiality of company information, and companies failing to develop enforceable non-compete agreements.  I have advised small businesses regarding the implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures.  I have drafted numerous employment related documents, including employee handbooks, non-compete/non-solicit agreements, nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements, and employment contracts.  I have also helped clients navigate their responses to incidents that arise out of these policies and procedures.

I litigate on behalf of employers seeking to protect their businesses from improper actions taken by former employees and competitors.  Litigation includes seeking injunctive relief to prohibit further violations of employment agreements and seeking monetary damages.  It's critical to respond to employee issues quickly and decisively so that they can be resolved before they turn into bigger problems.  Delaying works to your detriment. If you believe that there is an issue with a current or former employee, don't hesitate to call me.
